Using the acclaimed Growing in Grace Curriculum, the DBC Children’s Choirs encourage four year old - grade six children to discover and grow their musical skills and knowledge while increasing their awareness of and need for God in their lives. Each age-related choir meets on Sundays directly after the Worship service and provides musical opportunities and experiences appropriate to the child’s developmental age and ability.
The Music Makers Choir is for ages 3 years - Kindergarten-aged children and is an experiential, beginning choir that explores the very basic of concepts about God and music through the singing of brief, small range melodies while enjoying guided physical movement and selected craft activities.
The Young Musicians Choir is for grades one - five and further develops understanding and use of musical notation in score reading while encouraging part-singing on more challenging music to deepen their faith in and understanding of God. This group occasionally leads in 11:00 AM Sunday worship.
The Jubilee Choir is for Youth, grades six - twelve and strives to advance personal understanding of musical notation and the practice of score reading, effective use of the singing voice and enable successful part singing. Also, in their maturing state, a knowledgeable, personal faith in God is encouraged along with instilling Christian stewardship of talent, time and energy of faithful worship practice and leadership in the 11:00 AM Sunday worship service.
