“Mission is the church sent into the world, to love, to serve, to preach, to teach, to heal, to liberate.”

This quote by David Bosch from his book, Transforming Mission, gives us a good description of what the church is to be about in the world.  We are the hands and feet of Christ in the world.  Derbyshire is trying to live out the great commandments to love God and to love neighbor by partnering in our community, our city, our state and our world.
