Derbyshire Baptist Church

Joy (Journey of Years) Club began in 1971 to provide an opportunity for fellowship and sharing for people 50 years of age and older. Our mission is to provide a place where members lives may be enriched through fellowship and activities, in which spiritual needs may also be met.

The Joy Club meets on the second Thursday of each month - September through June. Meetings consist of a meal, singing, and programs that are educational, inspirational, or entertaining. The Derbyshire church bus furnishes transportation for Lakewood Manor residents.

The group has enjoyed trips to places like Lancaster, PA; Riverside Theater in Fredericksburg, VA; Emmrich Theater in Edenton, NC; Barksdale Theater in Richmond, VA; and apple picking in the Charlottesville area.

Membership is open to all who wish to participate.
