The Chancel Choir is a non-auditioned choir for 16 year old - adult singers and rehearses Wednesdays, 7:30 - 9:00 PM.

In addition to the weekly 11:00 AM worship service responsibilities of contributing diversely styled anthems and augmenting congregational hymn singing through the creative additions of soprano descants, choral introits and tags, the Chancel Choir presents other themed concerts during the year and is the featured musical contributor in the dramatic Good Friday Tenebrae Service.

This 90-voice choir has received regional accolades and sings to full houses because of the consistent musical precision and programmatic diversity found in its annual fully memorized, elegant worship concerts, Christmas at Derbyshire, accompanied
by a 35-piece symphony orchestra, and the upbeat, yet relaxed, summer toe-tapping Good Ol’ Gospel Sing and Watermelon Cutting

In June 2007 the Chancel Choir was chosen to culminate a 16-month church wide recording project and served as the National CD Release Choir for Soli Deo Gloria!
a recording featuring the compositions and arrangements of Minister of Music / Composer in Residence, David Schwoebel. As part of the release weekend of concerts, the choir worked with noted guest conductor, Dr. C. David Keith, formerly of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX, and now Director of Graduate Studies for the Townsend School of Music, and Director of the McAfee Institute for Graduate Studies in Church Music at Mercer University, Macon, GA.
